AgencyComp started as one producer’s fix for a problem every agent knows: statements from a dozen carriers, no easy way to tell what’s missing, and no tool that didn’t require buying an expensive CRM first.
Our story
Thirty years in the business. One question that kept coming up.
Joe Hardgrove spent his career on the selling side of insurance. He represented several major disability insurance carriers, consistently produced in the top 10 percent, and went on to build a well-respected disability insurance brokerage of his own.
Through all of it, one question never got easier to answer: was I paid correctly on every policy? Each carrier paid differently. Statements came in different formats. Overrides showed up separately, if they showed up at all. The only tracking tools available came bundled inside costly CRMs he didn’t need.
So he built his own. What started as a way to reconcile his own book turned into something more once other industry veterans started using it and offering feedback. It became clear the tool could help any agent or BGA spend less time digging through statements and more time with clients.
That tool became AgencyComp, founded in Fort Worth, Texas in 2016. Today it helps agents and agencies track, project and reconcile commissions for Medicare, ACA, life and ancillary products across every carrier they write.
